Vishal Greenaway
Senior Director, Finance & Revenue Compliance
Vishal provides strategic leadership for Elemental’s Finance function, overseeing financial analysis and budget planning. He partners closely with the Development team on proposal budgets, grant management, and reporting, while also building the systems and processes that ensure the organization can steward funding responsibly, strengthen donor confidence, and scale its mission with clarity and rigor.

As Senior Director, Finance & Revenue Compliance, Vishal leads the development of a financial management framework that enhances accountability, transparency, and strategic decision-making. Vishal supports Elemental’s operating model as a nonprofit investor by strengthening the operational synergies between the Finance and Development teams in support of leadership. Vishal remains steadfastly focused on upholding nonprofit best practices, ensuring donor & regulatory compliance, strengthening donor engagement, and increasing organizational capacity to absorb and strategically administer grant revenue. He leads organization-wide budgeting, integrates project and grant-level planning, and crafts accurate and compelling budget proposals, financial exhibits, and grant financial reports. His work directly supports Elemental’s ability to mobilize resources, mitigate risk, and deepen trust with funders.
Prior to Elemental
Vishal is passionate about building bridges between the worlds of nonprofit finance and fundraising. He brings to Elemental more than 20 years of experience supporting donor-dependent organizations—including the Environmental Defense Fund, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, and the Population Council—through strategic and operational guidance that builds capacity and advances mission delivery.
Outside of the office
Vishal enjoys hiking on the many trails in New York’s Hudson Valley with his labradoodle, in addition to coaching youth soccer, sailing on the Hudson River, and watching Cricket in his free time. Vishal always looks forward to tinkering on the next house project.
