Senior Manager, Investments & Innovation

As Senior Manager, Investments and Innovation, Alberto spearheads sourcing, underwriting, and execution, and asset management of investments across the climate technology landscape, with a particular focus on transportation and water early stage and first-of-a-kind (FOAK) commercial project investments.

Alberto is a Senior Manager of Investments & Innovation at Elemental, where he leads sourcing, underwriting, and execution, and asset management of investments across the climate technology landscape, with a particular focus on the transportation and water sectors. His work spans initial and follow-on investments in first-of-a-kind and early commercial projects, as well as early-stage startups. He conducts diligence on investments that blend equity, debt, and hybrid capital to enable the deployment of new clean technologies at scale. In addition to his investment responsibilities, Alberto supports Elemental portfolio companies with project finance and debt-related requests and helps synthesize insights across the portfolio.

Prior to Elemental

Prior to joining Elemental, Alberto worked as a management consultant and in the climate change policy and energy sectors. He started his career as a business analyst at McKinsey & Company, focusing on public sector, capital projects, and banking. He has also worked at the American Flood Coalition, a climate change adaptation policy nonprofit, and at Avangrid, an energy company. Alberto is a graduate of the joint MBA and Master of Environmental Management program at Yale University and holds a BA in Economics and Management from the University of Oxford.

Outside of the office

Alberto enjoys reading memoirs and Latin American literature, hiking, and sailing. He is based in New York City and has previously lived in Colombia, Panama, the UK, and China.
