Mitch Rubin

Mitch is focused on leading Elemental’s food, agriculture, and nature-based solutions portfolio. Mitch has spent his career both operating and supporting a variety of startups. He helps our portfolio companies connect with high value partners and resources that address their most pressing needs. In addition to providing guidance to the portfolio, Mitch co-designs projects with our entrepreneurs, spearheads diligence and recruitment for the sector, and collaborates with our Navigator team to help engage corporates interested in innovation.

Prior to Elemental

Mitch helped start a fund focused on building climate-resilient communities in North America. He previously worked at Chobani for over three years, where he managed the Chobani Incubator and Food Tech Residency programs to support food and ag entrepreneurs. Before Chobani, Mitch spent two years in Detroit as a Venture for America Fellow. During that time, he worked alongside the founder at a small fintech startup and served as Strategic Project Manager for a special advisor to the Mayor of Detroit. Mitch holds an MS in Sustainability Management from Columbia University, and a BA in Political Science from Duke University.

Outside of the office

Mitch enjoys playing the guitar and singing, hiking, skiing, shooting hoops, and cooking!
