Our Team
Annelise Dillon
Senior Manager, Investments & Innovation
Annie sources and diligences new investment opportunities across the mobility, energy, built environment, and water sectors, and works closely with founders in Elemental’s portfolio to maximally leverage the organization’s resources and network as they scale.
As part of the Investments & Innovation team at Elemental Impact, Annie researches cutting-edge technologies and trends across the climate field to inform Elemental’s annual investment thesis, builds a pipeline of high-caliber startups, and conducts diligence to assess new investment opportunities. She also helps manage more than 75 companies in Elemental’s portfolio that fall within the mobility, energy, built environment, and water sectors, working closely with founders to design and scope projects, navigate strategic business decisions, and amplify their technical and commercialization breakthroughs to high-value partners and investors across the climate ecosystem. In addition to sourcing, diligence, and portfolio management support, Annie leads asset management-related tasks for a subset of Elemental’s existing investments, including monitoring performance and tracking key financial, legal, and operational risk indicators from post-investment through exit. Annie has served as a Board Observer to several portfolio companies, including Noon Energy and SunFi.
Prior to Elemental
Prior to joining Elemental, Annie was a scientist at Oakland-based nonprofit research institute Physicians, Scientists, and Engineers for Healthy Energy (PSE), where her data-driven research focused on crafting decarbonization strategies that maximize public health benefits, particularly for environmentally overburdened communities. She contributed to multi-stakeholder research projects, including the development of state-level decarbonization pathways for Nevada, New Mexico, and Colorado and an assessment of the techno-economic potential for solar+storage resilience hubs across California. Previous to PSE, Annie researched community-scale solar and wind projects at the Rocky Mountain Institute, participated in the Clean Energy Leadership Institute Fellowship program, and worked on the Business Operations team of water-efficiency startup Nebia. Annie graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Earth Systems and a Master’s Degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering.
Outside of the office
Annie grew up in San Francisco and is currently based in Brooklyn, NY. Outside of work, you can find her climbing in the Shawangunks or learning to surf in the Rockaways, exploring small music venues across NYC, and daydreaming about the high desert of the Eastern Sierra back home in California.
