Annie DIllon

As part of the Portfolio Innovation team, Annie works closely with founders across our energy portfolio. She helps companies design and scope projects, connects them to high value partners and investors, and leverages Elemental’s resources to ensure their success. Annie also researches cutting-edge technologies and trends in the energy field to inform our annual investment thesis, builds a pipeline of high-caliber startups, and conducts diligence to assess new investment opportunities. Annie is passionate about solutions to the climate crisis that address social equity and public health issues in addition to carbon emissions.

Prior to Elemental Excelerator

Prior to joining Elemental, Annie was a scientist at Oakland-based nonprofit research institute Physicians, Scientists, and Engineers for Healthy Energy, where her data-driven research focused on designing carbon emission reduction strategies to maximally benefit environmentally overburdened communities. Previously, Annie researched community-scale solar and wind projects at the Rocky Mountain Institute, participated in the Clean Energy Leadership Institute Fellowship program, and worked on the Business Operations team of water-efficiency startup Nebia.

Annie grew up in San Francisco and is currently based in New York. She graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Earth Systems and a Master’s Degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering.

Outside of the office

Annie practices guitar and songwriting, and you can often find her exploring the vibrant live music scene in NYC. She is also a rock climber, and spends most days daydreaming about the granite boulders and moonlike landscapes of the Eastern Sierra.
