Each year, Elemental selects 15-20 companies to support through strategic coaching and project deployment funding. We had over 500 applicants from around the world for Cohort 11 and we are in the final steps of our selection process. Elemental’s Community Marketplaces are a critical step in our evaluation of startups looking to work with us on climate and equity.
What is a Community Marketplace?
Community marketplaces are Elemental’s way to incorporate expertise and insights into our selection process and ensure that the companies we fund are suited to meet the needs and values of the California’s unique climate challenges and center the needs of our frontline communities. We invite experts from a range of experience and ask for feedback on our applicants. We rely on partners, local community organizations and industry experts, who understand the potential impacts of the technologies in the real world.
