Today, we are pleased to announce that Amazon’s Climate Pledge Fund has joined Elemental Excelerator’s Scale-Up Program. Together, Elemental and Amazon are working to accelerate a pathway to decarbonization that is critical to mitigating the impact of climate change more quickly and equitably across the globe. As part of the Scale-Up collaboration, the Climate Pledge Fund will work with Elemental to identify and support technology startups on the forefront of clean energy, mobility, agriculture, and the circular economy.
“Amazon has a unique ability to affect change at scale. We are excited to work with The Climate Pledge Fund to help startups with important climate solutions also reach speed and scale,” said our CEO Dawn Lippert. “We created Elemental to fill a gap we see toward achieving decarbonization: the ability to fund projects and get new technology into the hands of customers. As we scale up climate technology alongside Amazon, we also hope to inspire others to adopt new solutions and decarbonize systems and operations at the root of climate change.”
“Amazon created The Climate Pledge Fund to support the development of technologies and services that will enable us and other companies to reach net-zero carbon by 2040,” said Matt Peterson, Director of new initiatives and corporate development for Amazon. “We’re excited to work with a changemaker like Elemental Excelerator to further engage with startups and help accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy.”
As part of the Scale-Up Program, Amazon joins a roster of well-established companies including Schneider Electric, Kilroy Realty Corporation, NextEra Energy, and Kurita Water Industries that have committed to working with Elemental to connect with climate innovators, open new opportunities, and expand their impact across the globe.
